The other day, I blogged about my new Fuji Instax that my mom bought me for Christmas and while I've been having so much fun with that little sucker (and buying film like it's 1988), I have to admit that I've been cheating on the Instax just a tad...just a little bit...it's not even cheating!  When I was home for Christmas, I asked my mom if she still had her old polaroid camera that we used in the '80's...she dug through her closet and found it...and it still had the receipt in the box from 1985!  My parents told me to "go ahead and take it, but good luck finding film!"  Well, guess what!?  I found film for it!  (Thank you, internet!).  Even though it comes out to around $4/picture, I took the risk of ordering the film, hoping that the camera would still work...and it does!!!

Poor Bear...as if he doesn't get harassed enough by me and my Canon gear, now I'm cornering him daily with my new holga, fuji instax and the polaroid!!

But, sometimes, I think he enjoys all the attention  :)

And how fun is this?  I finally started Skyping (I know, I'm sooo behind the times...I'll wave to you from the 1980's with my polaroid, leg warmers and aquanet hairstyle!).  My first learning victim was Ross from Flosites...not only did he do such a great job on my portrait blog and website, but the poor guy had to put up with me learning Skype!

Then, I chatted with Heidi and my niece Molly...it was so fun to be able to "hang out" with them for a little bit :)

Soo, if you ever want to Skype, let me know!

Be sure to tune back in next week because I have some exciting news coming your way sometime next week!  :)  Happy Friday!

Those are three cameras I would love to get sometime this year! I need something out of the ordinary to spark creativity in those dry moments when I feel burnt out. My dog is also my most used subject when trying out new gear. ;-)

Everything looks great! The site is easy to navigate and clean and fresh. Just a tip, if you can on the blog, make it so links can be right clicked or automatically open in a new tab. I waited for a long time for the blog to download and when I clicked the Elle Decor link, I lost your page and had to reload again.

of my Fuji Instax that is!!!  Ahhh!  I LOVE this little camera!  So much fun :)  This was one of my many cool gifts from my parents and I seriously.CANNOT.stop.playing.with.this.camera!!!

I know Bear is so sick of playing model because I keep posing him in the yard, at the park, on the bed, in the car, and just about everywhere else...but he does like to take part in my "shake it like a polaroid picture" dance as we wait for the film to develop :)

Happy 2010!  You can just feel the excitement in the air...a new day, a new week, a new year...a fresh slate, so to speak.  A new year is so refreshing and feels just like starting a new school year as a child...you know, with the perfectly combed hair, pressed outfit, new backpack, shiny new lunch box and freshly sharpened pencils and that feeling of Who will I meet this year?!  What all will I learn?!  I am so excited for what 2010 holds for myself personally and professionally and I look forward to sharing it all with you on my blog :)

I am finally back from our great Americana road trip number two and I have a few more images to share...

We actually went by Mount Rushmore on the way to North Carolina but I didn't have a chance to blog the last part of our trip after Blizzard 2009 took place!

mtrushmore.jpg
On our way back we stopped in the Big Easy for New Years Eve and then came through San Antonio...

Bear along the Riverwalk...doesn't he look so dapper?!  :)

We also took the time to go by a few wineries in Fredericskburg, Texas...our first stop was to Sister Creek Vineyards which was situated in an old cotton gin...very cool!

Next we ventured out to Grape Creek Vineyards:

I am quite the sucker for wine racks!

After driving through west Texas we took a few random highways to get to Roswell, NM...last year I really wanted to drive through Roswell and we didn't have time so this year we definitely made a stop by this very interesting town!

Aliens everywhere!

We decided to have a fun day yesterday to ease back into the swing of things so what else did we do than go wine tasting!

We tried out Beckmen for the first time and their Syrah's did not disappoint!!
