I've always been a big fan of Wednesdays...of course, Fridays are pretty awesome as well, but Wednesday to me signifies the halfway point of the week.  If I made it through Monday and Tuesday, by gosh, I will make it through Thursday and Friday no matter how busy things get!  I'm particularly pleased with this Wednesday because the sun is out, it's looking as if it will be warm today and there are so many things I have to be thankful for!

I started keeping a gratitude journal late last year to remind myself of all the little things that happen everyday, no matter how small, that I am thankful for.  Some days are easier than others to find 3 things, but today, after having a great conversation with friends I quickly found my 3 gratitude items for the day...I could say I'm thankful for my friends, but I've already said that....no, today one thing I am thankful for is to have so many people around me to share ideas and thoughts with and just to be able to bounce dreams around.  You see, I'm quite proud of myself, as I child I did not like to share.  "Um, no you may not pick up my Barbie doll," and "Just what exactly do you think you are doing my touching my monopoly playing piece...it's my game!"  Fortunately, I kicked that bad habit to the curb and I love sharing my suggestions with others.

Speaking of sharing, my dear friends Alice and Kyu, the founders of NAPCP (National Association of Professional Child Photographers) have created a one-of-a-kind retreat for members and non-members in, wait for it, NAPA VALLEY!  The retreat will be held June 20-23 at the Meritage Resort and you guessed it, there will be lots of sharing and bonding and amazing speakers including Tamara Lackey and business expert Lisa MacKenzie!  To register for the retreat please click HERE!

And since y'all know how much I love wine...an ode to the grapevine...

Since we're I am still talking about sharing, Into the Darkroom recently put a cool widget on my blog (below near the comments section) where you can share my blog posts on Twitter, Digg or Technorati--have fun!

And here is a quick sneak peek of a recent shoot I captured for a local magazine...

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and Valentine's Day!  Mike surprised me with a short trip to Monterey--one of my favorite places ever!  We had a delicious dinner at a sustainable seafood restaurant, Passion Fish, and then went wine tasting (who, me?!?) at a few organic wineries, including Heller Estates in Carmel Valley.

We grabbed this shot near Pebble Beach with our point and shoot:

Also, a few months ago, I had the honor of being featured on the SJB Weddings and Events blog--I just love Shanika's blog...if you're planning your wedding in the Charlotte, NC area, she is definitely a top notch wedding professional to check out!  Find the feature here.

Rain, rain go away!  I'm not sure what the weather is doing where you are, but here it's been raining steadily throughout the night and morning and now early afternoon!  I secretly enjoy the rain...it's a such a great excuse to be lazy work hard all day long!

Yesterday I was so kindly featured on the White Thread blog, by Dina.  Dina's blog is an amazing resource for NC and SC brides--chock full of gorgeous Southern venues and the latest trends in Southern weddings.  Click here to see the entire post on Joe and Gina's wedding on the White Thread blog!  And to see my post on Joe and Gina's awesome wedding, please click here.

You can also find White Thread on my blog in one of my recent Resource Room posts.

I never imagined 10, 15, 20 years ago that there would be this magical thing created called the "internet."  I also never imagined that I would make friends over the internet, but I have and I'm here to tell you that it's pretty cool!  Sometimes if you can't speak face to face, a fun email conversation or twitter chat is the way to go :)

One of the many friends I have made recently via online in the wedding industry is Kelly Simants of Sweet Pea Events, LLC.  Kelly heads up the Dallas, Texas office with her wedding coordinator extraordinaire skills and writes on the drool-inducing blog which is full of all things wedding: details, color palettes, inspiration boards, etc.  Kelly so kindly featured snippets from two of my recent weddings...thanks Kelly!  :)

The first is Katie and Matt's wedding--gorgeous blue details and the other is Lyndsey and Erik's wedding--fun, bright yellow accents.  Be sure to check the blue wedding day details on Kelly's blog HERE and the yellow wedding day details HERE.

Happy Friday everyone!  Just wanted to drop a quick thank you on the blog to Jennifer Bragg for  featuring my business on the Santa Barbara Female Entrepreneur website.  I've talked about SBFE before and how much I love it, but if you're in the area I really want you to come out---we meet once a month...typically the last Wednesday of the month and we have a great time, talk business and fun stuff and in general just have a good time.  When I first moved to Santa Barbara I knew I wanted to find a group like this but wasn't sure where to look....thanks to Twitter, Jennifer found me and invited me. Go check out her realtor site and be sure to come join us if you're in the area...and if you're not, then start your own!  :)

This past Wednesday was 16 months since Mike and I got married and he brought me a few crazy pink/orange sunflowers because he knows that I love odd/different flowers...they're so pretty and they have turned the water pink...cute!  I love you Mike--this has been the best 16 months of my life! :)
