Moving to a new town is always a difficult task and moving clear across the country, is well, and even bigger, more difficult task. You realize that you took for granted all those connections you had and you realize that you are alone. ALONE! But, taking the positive side of things, I decided that I wasn't alone and that I would find people to meet, even if I had to make them! (just kidding ;) ) But seriously, it is a daunting task...I mean, just where are you supposed to meet people? No one wants to be a creep down at the grocery store, "Oh, by the way, I like asparagus too..."

Fortunately, for me, I have found a few different social networking groups in town and it's so nice to be apart of something again! My favorite is Santa Barbara Female Entrepreneurs that Jennifer Bragg, an area real estate expert put together. I was so thrilled when I met Jennifer and she invited me to their very first meet up a few months ago. Since then, I have began to make connections in town and I have met some very nice and very smart ladies:
As mentioned previously, Jennifer Bragg of Estates of Santa Barbara
Kelly Mitchell, also of Estates of Santa Barbara
these real estate gurus can get you hooked up with some very posh residences in the area ;)
Lisa Braithwaite of Speak Schmeak

Kathleen King of Surfeit of Passion
Kathleen is an amazing artist and is actually in Colorado right now creating a mural for the Olympics Training Center!
Leslie Lewis Sigler of Fine Art and Design
Leslie actually designed some fantastic postcards and brochures for some of the ladies at our event and they look so awesome!
Kristin Fraser Cotte of The Grapeseed Company

Michelle Strashoon of HipCompass

Molly Hahn of Mollycules
Molly is a comic book illustrator and creator and she does web design!
If there are any female entrepreneurs in town reading my post, feel free to join us! We meet on the last Wednesday of each month and we have a facebook group...email me and I'll give you the details!
Being the moron that I am, I walked right out the door the other night and forgot my camera, so here is a quick pic of Air Bear at our neighborhood park :)

Happy Monday!
