I've been meaning to post these FUN images from Labor Day weekend.  Mike and I were invited by some of our favorite people to go sailing to the Channel Islands over the long weekend....of course we said "UM, yes!!"  It was an awesome trip...took about 6 hours of sailing to get out there and then we camped overnight on the boat and then had an easy 4 hour sail back.  We saw tons of seals/sea lions....I still can't tell the difference although some people tell me there's a huge difference :)  And we saw dolphins!  Who doesn't like dolphins?!

Here's a little map courtesy of Google to show what Santa Cruz Island looks like....there are several islands and this is the one we ventured to.

santacruzmap.jpg
Sooo pretty!

santacruzisland.jpg
We went for a short hike after anchoring....but some people (aka, myself) cut the hike short for dinner!  :)  I was so hungry after working hard sailing all afternoon  watching Charles and Mike sail...

santacruzisland_4.jpg
It was like a little party of boats where we anchored :)

santacruzisland_7.jpg
On the way back we saw tons of dolphins swimming along side of the boat...

santacruzisland_8.jpg

I'm not gonna lie....I was worried about sharks and freaked out a tad when I saw the dolphins coming closer to the boat...

THANKS CHARLES!  :)

Happy Tuesday!

Two weeks ago I posted a sneak peek of Diarmuid and Chrissy's wedding...I am so excited to share the full post today!  Long post, so be warned!  When I first met Diarmuid and Chrissy at their Santa Monica Pier engagement session and witnessed first hand just how truly head-over-heels in love they are, I knew this would be a fabulous wedding!!

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention all the wonderful and amazing people who came together to create this beautiful wedding for Chrissy and Diarmuid:

Coordinator:  Donna Romani Events
Hair/Makeup:  LunaBella Makeup Art
Ceremony Venue:  El Presidio Chapel, Rain Longo
Reception Venue:  Granada Theater, William Cochran
Ceremony musician:  Jennifer Argenti (310.592.6417)

Diarmuid and Chrissy chose to have a first look and see each other before the ceremony...it was a wonderful opportunity to use a different venue other than the ceremony and reception site for photographs, plus we had plenty of time for oodles of portraits!  :)

Their first look took place at the Santa Barbara Courthouse

Wow, looks like one gorgeous wedding and an even prettier couple! I love wedding photography, it has always been a hobby of mine to shoot my friends weddings. I would of done my own wedding but I wanted to be apart of all the action! The Santa Barbara courthouse is a great venue to hold a large group especially for a wedding. The sunken gardens is so nice, this must have been an exceptional ceremony. I was just in Santa Barbara and loved every minute of it. Stayed at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). Budget friendly and right in the middle of town.

This week for the Resource Room I am sharing a different blog.  This blog has amazing details and event ideas, but the author is a labor and delivery nurse!  After perusing through her blog I think she missed her calling, as I love her ideas!  :)  Be sure to check out Affection for Detail HERE.

So, what does everyone have going on for Labor Day weekend??!

Last week I did some desk/office reorganizing to make room for some new samples and I decided to share some new sample books in the next few weeks!  I offer guest-sign in albums for my clients because I think they're a wonderful way to display your engagement pictures at your ceremony and reception, while having guests sign happy wedding day messages into your album...such a great keepsake!

Here is one sample album...these images are from Katie and Matt's engagement session...this engagement session was shot awhile ago (Katie and Matt just had a baby boy-yay!), but I still love, love, love this e-session!

This book is an 8x8...several different colors are available and you can choose black or white pages  :)
